Baby on the Way!

Good Morning, bloggity bloggers!  So, I don't think I've shared on here yet, but my sister-in-law is pregnant! Yay! I'm so excited to be an aunt, and even more excited to see HH around a baby! Haha!:)  HH's side of the family is fairly international, so we don't get to see them as much as we'd like, but they're coming to visit in April and I get to throw her a baby shower!  Of course I'm like uber excited and already have a theme in mind  and blah, blah, blah, but I've never thrown a Baby Shower before, so I've been checking out Hostess with the Mostess for inspiration--seriously such a fun site!  And, oh my goodness, did I stumble across some cuties, or what?!!

This Velveteen Rabbit Baby Shower is probably my favourite ever!! Loved the book as a child and loving all the details that went into this darling shower!

Okay, so how many of you loved Goodnight Moon--we still have it somewhere back at home and I can't wait to read it to my own little, lovebug someday! This baby shower is so sweet and I love, love, love all the bright, fun details!

And then, I ran across this:

It's called a Sip and See and I was like, "What the heck is that?" Do people come over and like watch your baby on the monitor, or even worse, watch you give birth? Um, no...apparently a Sip and See is a shower that happens after the baby is brought home and guests get to come over and eat a little cake and meet your new bundle of joy!

I'm even more excited to get started on the planning now, and can't wait to see how everything turns out!  Do you lovelies have any Baby Shower tips or games that you love to play?  I'm pretty sure I've decided on a theme, but let me know if you guys have any other good ideas!:)

Happy Monday!

  11. Yay babies! Being an aunt is awesome. I have a 16 year old nephew and an 11 year old one and a 9 year old niece. And my daughter is one year old. What's absolutely crazy is that it feels like yesterday that I met my 16 year old nephew for the first time. Enjoy...it all goes by so fast! xo

  16. Baby showers are so fun. The best one I've been to had a quiz that they had already asked the dad to be and then on the day they asked the mum to be to match up their answers to some funny parenting questions.

They also had a really gross but fun game of melting different chocolate bars in nappies {diapers} and people had to guess what they were. GROSS. but got everyone talking and laughing so was good for bringing two sides of family together.

Also... I LOVE fingerprint trees. I posted here and there are two free printables you could use: http://www.skinandblisterblog.com/2012/02/baby-showers-gifts-and-fingerprint.html

Looking forward to seein your theme x
