my husband is english...i'm american...the 4th of july is a funny day around our house. i've thought of all the ways i could rub it in his face today, most of which just end with me jumping up and down on the couch singing, "we won, we won, nan er nan er nah nah!", but what i've learned in my less-than-one-year-of-marriage is that it rarely works out when you let your pride take over--no matter how small/silly an issue. hubby and i have been talking a lot about unity in marriage lately. how fun it is to feel that you're part of this special, little, two-person team. it really is the coolest thing to know that someone has my back 100% and even cooler to know that i get to have his 100%. it's me + him against the world. i love america {and so does he for the record!} and we can't wait until we call it home again, but for right now i'm cool with drinking tea and having people ask me to repeat words ninety-seven thousand times.
because home really is wherever i'm with him.
p.s. happy fourth of july my lovely, fellow 'muricans! please eat a hot dog + a slice of apple pie for me!:)
